how to setup dual fuel pumps inline

Hey can someone help me with my dual pump setup ...i want to have a high flow pump in tank and have a external bosch 044 in line for added presure but i dont know how far the external pump should be from the fuel rail/filter to work properly ...im upgrading to -6 an s/s line from the tank to the AEM high flow fuel rail i have install on the car ...any help would be much aprreciated and if there is any articles or threads done on this setup please let me know ...thanks alot fella's in advance :D
 
Mount the inline pump where you want to mount it, just make sure its before the filter. It can be down by the tank, mounted on the bottom of the car (just make sure a speed bump can't rip it off), or up on the firewall just before the filter.

I have actually read its better to have the inline pump after the filter for 2 reasons, 1 it makes sure theres almost no way for debris to get to the inline pump. 2 it helps pull fuel through the filter while the intank pump pushes. in reality either way works so might just come down to prefrence

also at this point you should be running an aftermarket fuel filter
 
The Bosch inline is made to push fuel, not pull it through a filter, so if ran post filter it can burn up. The sock on the in-tank pump will filter the fuel enough that you won't have to worry about the inline pump gunking up.

You can run it how you'd like but if you do it post filter and keep burning up pumps its because its "pulling" it through the filter when it should be pushing it.

You can run a "pre-filter" but it needs to be a high micron rated element, something like a 50 to 75 micron element. I believe a DSM fuel filter is rated at 10 microns (give or take) which doesn't flow as easily, thats why you'll burn up an inline pump by running one before it.

hey guys thanks for the discusion on how to run this setup ...i do have an aftermarket fuel filter already -6 an in/out and the thread link u gave me gofer is a pretty good idea to put the bosch pump on the fire wall just before the filter ...:D
 
My next question would be how to wire the inline bosch so it works with the intank pump and the main relay signal ....could i use a second automotive relay direct from the battery and run a wire ground signal from the main relay all the way to the relay near the bosch 044
