how to get 12s..

will a 3 inch turbo back, k&n fipk, hard ic piping, mbc, what turbo and other mods for a 98 gsx to get deep into the 12s?

Check out my mod list - my car runs mid 12's. Go to the 1/4 mile times page, and check out the profiles of other people running 12's to see what they have also. That should give you a general idea.

From your list, sounds like you will need to add injectors, boost controller, alot of porting, like on your exhaust and turbo, and quite a few other things to 'even things out'.

im having an argument with a friend of mine who is trying to convince me that 2nd gens are really slow and that his brother with a 99 cobra with glasspacks welded in and drs beat one running 35 psi

and dosnt beleive that a gsx will take his z06 out of the hole.


i was thinking exhaust, ic piping, cai, ported o2 housing, and a 16g+fuel pump+injectors+tuning+mbc will put the gsx there; if not what times will this get me?

You have the right idea, a 16G will get you there with some good tuning and driving. Look at the 1/4 mile time list on this site and look at the members who are at the time you want to be at and see what turbo they have.

I would first argue the 35psi. Not many guys run that. If so, then with just the "GlassPacks" he did not beat the DSM running 35psi. I don't care if it is a GSX or not. 35psi is some serious shit. NOt for the faint at heart.

As for the Z06 and GSX out of the hole. Well, you are both right. It is a drivers test.

Forget the CAI, you have an intercooler.
That is about all you need toget in the 12's. Hell, maybe even 11's if you play the game right.

That is my point. 35psi is doable with some S-E-R-I-O-U-S thought. You can not just turn it up like that for NO reason and expect positive results.

get a 1g awd...

take of exhaust after o2 housing

take off hood and trunk and bumpers (front and rear) and do more weight reduction

buy a 10$ boost controller turn up to 15psi

get a good launch and you should break into 12's at least 1 or 2 times before your clutch dies on you, depending on how hard you launch...

or for you since u have a 2g


get a 14b for like 50 bucks..

then follow steps like above
