I need to replace the base idle set screw on my talon and need to know something. What is the right procedure to adjusting the BISS correctly? Right now, the car idles at 1500k then flucuants up and down between 1.5-2k. It's starting to get annoying at stop lights so I want it to stop.

Vfaq

I'm not sure if that'll take you to the exact page (I can't get it to display the exact URL, sorry). But just go to Vfaq, then to the intake section, go down to throttle body, the to idle speed adjustment for the 1g.

Here's the the link from VFAQ for the BISS adjustment. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/BISS-2G.html

I would definitely adjusting the SAS screw like it says, before you mess with the BISS.

Also, make sure your ISC is working properly. And make sure your TPS is adjusted properly. I would check the SAS, ISC, and TPS before I made any adjustment to the BISS.

When I was experiencing idle surge, like you are, I fixed it by doing the adjustments in these links. :thumb:

PS - It wouldnt be a bad idea to clean your throttle body out while you're messing with it...

After doing the setting procedure, you should find a way to keep the BISS in place. I have problems with it walking out (actually blew one completely out once halfway down the drag strip). I set the BISS, then RTV it in place (basically, fill the space in the hole above the screw. DO NOT GET RTV ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE SCREW :) You don't want it inside the TB).
