I don't care what you say, there's other places to put small things like that aside from your hood. Best of luck with the swap. And there's nothing to hate on. It's a 6-bolt going into a 2g. There's nothing special about that, brotha.

What have these forums turned into?
Every single thread. EVERY SINGLE THREAD now, there's someone flaming, taunting, saying things that don't need to be said. It's his damn car. Let him put shit on the hood. Fvcking A guys. We need to stop flaming eachother. We're starting to look like a bunch of stuck up pricks. These cars aren't worth much, but to the owner. They're priceless. He's not gonna lower the value by painting it, not even if he dings up the hood a bit. These cars are WORTHLESS to everyone but the enthusiasts themselves. It's not like this is a 1 in 500 car, but to the owner it probably is. TO THE OWNER. None of you but op are the owners. Yeah what was said wasn't a big deal, but it's the general idea of the hang out now. I remember when this place was fun. The flaming was harmless teasing where both parties were laughing and smiling. Nothing in this thread has been positive. Look at all of you. You guys should be a bit ashamed of yourselves. The last thing ANYONE wants here is to be put down. He's posting pictures of his swap because he wants to share with us, he wants encouragement to keep on going. Let's try to bring this community together. We're all family. Let's act like it.
ENOUGH.

/ rant. Whatever.

Good luck on the swap bud, hope everything goes well for you.

+1! thank you! I've been noticing the same thing lately. like wtf people we need to stick together.

blah blah blah, back in the day many people here would have just been banned. on topic though, that motor is so fresh and so clean clean

I just got flamed because I was posting about my upgrade and fixes with close up pictures and people had the nerve to diss me about the product I was using.

Remember you have the community and you have the know it all's (Not all of you :D ) that are going to bash you unless you use and do what they do.

Your engine looks well maintained, externally, and it looks like my trunk too! Spare parts for highway rebuilds / replacements and oil.

Make sure you clean up your engine bay before you get the engine in there as well so when you pop that hood its :hellyeah:

Rock on and please post some pictures when that bad boy gets in there.

How long has your car been out? I know you got an Auto but, are planning on swapping or keeping it? All I can is good luck with the build and I can't wait how it turn out.:thumb:

^^

I was being honest. D;

You have a good eye. I honestly didnt even notice it till you pointed it out LOL. Did you notice I had to use 7 bolt griddle bolts to bolt my turbo onto the exhaust manifold?

REALLY, I didnt know everyone with a 2g had the 6 bolt swap done :nono:. Its a big deal to me, because once fired up, its a big accomplishment. Its obvious I have no garage and Im working with basic tools. Anyone can just throw a 7 bolt motor in and go, but to rewire and grind and mod, another motor is good back yard work.

Paint is paint and Im sure my "rare" color isnt that rare. Its florida sun beat, and Im all getting repainted. Im a body man/custom interior guy, Im not that worried about dinging up a STOCK hood. Who keeps them anyway? CF or go home :sneaky:

Good luck on the swap bud, hope everything goes well for you.

Its a turbo DSM. What you said made no sence :thumb: :hellyeah:

Im keeping it auto. I will hold the boost constant and the Kiggly tranny 6 bolt swap kit will be here today. Excited for this swap. I have NEVER done anything this big to any of my 10 dsms :hellyeah:

Well #### me for putting the flex plate in backwards and having to yank the motor 2 times over something simple. Oh well thats how you learn.

What a long day. I did NOT get all accomplished that I wanted. So pissed at myself

I wasn't trying to be rude. You're the one that said "bring it haters". Hating would imply people are jealous. I'm just saying there's nothing to be jealous about. Don't put your foot in your mouth if you don't want get some shit back.

And I've done a 6-bolt swap, too. Like you said, aside from some grinding, it's totally straight-forward. Like I said, good luck with everything.

anyway back on topic. I had trouble getting 2 tranny bolts to thread in. The on that is located at the top of the tranny just under the CAS, and also the one that is located at the far bottom, where my transfer case goes. I actually didnt see a spot to slide my bolt on the bottom one, unless you thread it from under, from block to tranny. Aside from all that, its all a matter of making sure all is tight and connected correctly.

Lookin' Good.

o.o Why... might I ask in my ignorance, didn't you put the timing belt on with it out of the car? Seems like it would have been a lot easier.

;D and don't you worry about scraggles Mcgee! I'm a bit jealous, actually. I don't have the needed equipment to pull my engine and spend the time on it that I like... but I'm sure that the next time I pull it, i'll have all of the equipment that I'll need. I was only able to do a basic rebuild... not a complete cleanup like I would have liked to.

So good job man. Anyone who is willing to get their hands dirty and do the work on their own deserves praise.

Edit : Wait, I see the timing belt now. The chain from the lift pushed it off, didn't it? ;P
