hey guys i am going to be installing AEM FIC this weekend witch is going to be great because now i can pull timing out of my motor when it starts making good boost. so my question is at what boost level should i start to retard my timing? the car hits boost around 3,500 rpm and then hits hard at 4k. i am running a hx40. so i was thinking of pulling 1 degree per lbs of boost after 8lbs. what do you guys think about that?

you should only pull timing where you are receiving knock. as a rull of thumb where i begin to receive the knock i retard the timing just a bit before then ie knock at 5000rpm I begin the timing retard at 4500 but leave it. this meaning I dont continue to pull timing i try to keep my timing advance at a constant number.
