I have a '94 Talon TSI AWD 5-spd. It has 156K on the car, 50K on the trans and clutch. The car is white with black leather interior. I developed a knock a few days ago, and after some research i was pretty sure it was a stuck lifter. Well yestreday I drained the old gas out of it and put some fresh stuff in and let it run for about 45 minutes.

Well turns out the knock wasn't a lifter. I'm pretty sure it spun a bearing. The car died and wouldn't turn over after. So it probably either spun a bearing or seized a piston, not sure which.

My question is how much do you think it would be for a stock rebuild, meaning if I took it to a shop and had them do it?? I don't have time or resources to pul the engine myself.

Its either that or sell it as is. How much would I be able to get for it? Again the car is a 100% stock turbo AWD. I know the black leather interior is rare, and it is in perfect shape (well only one rip on the passenger seat)

Please let me know any thoughts or opinions! thanks in advance!

IMO, the cheapest route is a JDM engine, I don't care what anyone else says, that is the truth.

Get a timing kit and a longblock/turnkey/whatever for a decent price and you can't beat it if your fixing the problems you have now.
Add everything up and you would be hard pressed to beat a good awd trans/xfercase/longblock deal from an engine reseller.

I was looking at the JDM motors. How reliable are they? How much do you think i can get for the car as it sits??

yeah i'm going to get pictures in the next day or two. The car had sat for about 4 years, so the underneath is a little rusty, not any holes or anything, just surface rust. The outside is in really nice shape considering how long it sat. The interior is as good as the day it was put away. Here is one picture for now...just to give a little idea
