I paid 950 for my 90 Eclipse GSX in 2009. It wasnt in the best of condition. The body was in excellent, but the engine was idling like dirt. Fixed it up and now i have a good fast car for only about 1000. So cant beat that price. Though i had to make the guy go down in price. haha
 
I paid $5200 for my new 1990 Eclipse GSR-4. only had 74k kms :)
 
I bought a white w/tan interior 98 GSX for $5K after I got back from Iraq. Had stock head, Crower/JE/ARP 7 bolt rebuild. Spun thrust bearing after 2,000 miles. So I got a 6 bolt cheap flip from Karking with 2g head and replaced stuff that I could see failing in the future, like the crappy oil filter housing they include with it and the ITM timing belt, replaced it with OE timing belt and a Hyundai oil filter housing for the G4CP. Haven't installed it yet but will be in the near future.

As far as my 91 GSX I payed $1200 for it and was bone stock from a guy in Oklahoma. It's still stock now except for 3" turbo-back and suspension, but I have fuel mods with ECMlink, a fully built Jayracing 2.0 longblock sitting on a pallet in my garage, and a Jack's 2.3 tranny just waiting to go in. I'll probably spend my Christmas leave working on everything.
 
1996 GS for $300. Guy couldn't get it to start... got it home, changed out the main fuse, and she was up and running. She now needs a new transmission. Got another one sitting in the garage :p

1996 GS 5speed... $350... needs new windshield, the front end fixed (bumper, radiator support, what have you) and the interior needs an overhaul.

1998 RS (I guess? slick top, no sunroof) $350. Just basically a shell now.

Can't say how much we ended up paying for the GST because the place we got it from went out of business, their mother company went out of business, and the mother company of all of it filed for bankruptcy.
 
1990 eagle talon tsi awd.

Bought it with what the owner said was 1st gear was broke and it didn't run.

Put a bolt in the shifter bracket and put the engine together and have put over 5000 miles on it and have ran it at the track twice.

I paid 400 for it. Has GAB adjustable struts on the back. KYB struts on the front. Tein sprins all around. Stainless steel brake lines on all 4 corners. GAB front and rear strut tower braces and upgraded front and rear swaybars. FMIC, and 3 inch exhaust from the turbo back.

so i dont tell this story much but figured i should...

jan-09 t-bone car with my 95 civic.... almost died...
feb-09 get a good settlement from accident(her fault:hellyeah:)
feb-22,2009 buy my 1990 eagle talon tsi awd for 2,700

so heres the story,
i go look at this car (knowing nothing about dsm's) thought holy crap this cars fast... must buy... girlfriend at the time "baby buy this car its sexy and you are even more sexier driving it" ok... buy for 2700 and on the way home i stop at a red light and i stop but my driver side rim and tire keep going... 300 yards down a hill into a half frozen pond...:ohdamn:
ok so i tow the car home get a new rim(lug holes ovaled out) and start to look into whats wrong with this car...

runs rough idles like crap, floods out, backfires and shoots flames... come to find out its ecu, fuel pump, mas(wired wrong) fpr, injectors, and wrong head gasket... so after about 2 grand in parts and labor...( didnt wanna mess with the head myself) it runs... drive for about a week and the turbo nut that isnt supposed to spin off comes off and sucked into my wheel... causing very bad things... so 1200 dollars later new turbo and safc and logger go in... then like 2 weeks after that my exhaust manifold(tublar) cracks...

idk why i love this car so much but for some reason 8psi off the line spining all 4 tires smashing every civic in town just gets me going... so in all i have aoubt $6000 into a 90 tsi awd and 70 hours of work...
p.s. interior is like 2/10 exterior is 6/10

so thats my story... havent really felt true power but what i do have is good enough for me... sorry this is so long... DSM FOR LIFE:thumb:
 
Paid $1500 CAD for my 6-bolt 1992 TSI AWD Auto.
 
95 TSI AWD with 129000 paid 4400 for it about 4 months ago and then sunk another 4000 into it have probley driven it 4 times since i bought it and still dont have it back from the performance shop, should have it back this week though
