On a 420a engine after upgrading in the dsm tech path how much HP will the engine actually make. Also is it at all safe if I drive daily to go turbo w/o engine internal upgrades and still be reliable? Thanks for the help

If you go with the dsm tech path (non-turbo), You might see 160whp. (if someone got more, let me know)

I personally think its safe to turbo your car on stock internals if you leave the wastegate at like 5psi. I personally haven't had anyproblems boosting until I started to rasie the boost and tuning stuff out. So I'd say the 5-7lbs range, you don't see to many problems.

Also, I wouldn't really call that "upgrade path" an upgrade path if the final stage is "turbo engine [4G63] swap."

You can do plenty of things with your current 420A motor to make it into a complete beast.

If you follow DSMTuners upgrade path, I wouldn't expect to see more than 250 hp or so (that's after turbo kit).

I agree with Rand about maximum psi on stock internals - 5-7 psi range is safest.

Yea keep it between 5-7 psi on stock internals. I did alot of research on this stuff before I upgraded my internals. If you DO upgrade your internals, you can run 15 daily and be fine w/ the proper feul setup. Probably push around the 20psi mark safely too, again, with the proper feul setup. At any rate, 15psi may give you around 300hp-320 depending on your upgrades, turbo, etc.. If you ask me, Hp shouldnt be the measurement of our cars, it should be based on 1/4 times.. Mark my words, I will not stop tuning til I hit 12's... :thumb:

We're talking the 2GNT upgrade path on Tuners? I just went through it and it's very vague. If you want a more detailed build up, in an order that will make sense, check this link out.

As of today, the record for stock displacement all motor 2GNT whp is 159.9. Dyno charts can be found by searching 2GNT. Such gains are the results of a build much like mine, so if you don't need to see the dyno slips, you can check my NDSMR profile (linked from my profile here) for just what it takes to get there.

I'm going to dyno mine sometime before boost. Gives me an idea of the gain, etc... 160 is the highest N/A? I thought it would've been more then that. I'm Looking foward to getting my numbers .. :thumb:
