I want to begin building a new motor. I have a shortblock that is working perfectly fine. However, it has already been rebuilt once (stock bore, reground crank), and then tore down again and rebuilt w/ a brand new mitsu crank (still stock bore or maybe .020). Is there a limit to how many times you can rebuild a block?

Check the bore size and see if its still within spec. If so just hone it and use new rings. If not you can bore it agian but i woudn't go beyond .40 over. As far as the crank i woudn't even take it out of the block if you don't need to.
Thanks Steve

The answer to your question is: As many times, as your pocketbook will allow.

You can sleeve (1) cylinder or all four, although its much cheaper in the long run to just get a replacement bare block that has useable bores.

Sleeving doesn't make economic sense. There's too many DSM blocks floating around.
As for durability of the block, it depends on the bores only up until you spin a main bearing or a balance shaft bearing goes out so far as to beat the crap out of the block.
