I searched "how to take apart a headlight" and other phrases like that. So Im doing some headlight work adding some projectors which I got from another member here and wanted to know how to get to them. He mentioned to put them in the oven. Im sure someone here has done it what did you do that worked since this is my only pair of headlights. So whats the process of taking it off and puting it back together?

Also do you REALLY need to take the bumper off to take out the headlights?

Thanks guys

If you dont want to risk damaging them (leaving them in the oven too long...)
Then the simple solution is this..

1)take the little metal clips off
2)use a heat gun, or blow dryer and start heading up the glue thats holding the head lights together.
do little parts at a time, and be patient! Going to fast will bend the plastic, and could cause leaks.

So just heat, and pry.. heat and pry... until its all done.

This way you cant really damage the headlight, except by going to fast.

As for taking the bumper off.. you dont HAVE to, but it makes life a little easier.. but to take the bumper off you need to take the head lights off.. tricky situation ;)
There are a few threads around on removing the headlights from the car, with lots of pictures. search for it and you will find where the tricky bolt is, and how to get it out with out removing the bumper..
