I'm going to build a 420a turbo. I'm researching everything and I seen that the boost controller goes from the wastegate to the turbo. My turbo doesn't have the spot for it. It's probably stupid what I'm saying but any help would be nice. Thank you and here is the turbo. Cheap ebay t3t4.

You need to either tap a nipple in the compressor housing or get a nipple welded in your charge pipe right after the turbo.

Better question yet, why are you putting that ebay turbo on your car?

Trying to learn on this car going cheap. Do you have a better turbo in mind that will need no modification? I may have to go over budget a little.

Hey its your car, your call. I just like to warn people about them ebay turbos. Been down that road before and trust me, youll have more money in that turbo in the end then it would have cost to buy a quality unit.

Example. It burns oil. You rebuild it. Then it has shaft play so you build it again. Then you notice it chiped the fins on the compressor wheel so you get a new wheel. Then you add up your total investment.... just my 2 cents. You never know you could be one of the lucky few that have no problems.

I know what your saying. What is a good quality t3t4 turbo without an extremely high price. What should I go with?

To be honest with me having a turbo model I know a decent bit about 16g 20g dsm flanged turbos, but I really dont know alot about your platform. I would pm a n/t w/turbo guy and see what he thinks. Ive heard about people using haun turbo set ups for the 420a but I really dont know alot about them.Sorry I couldnt be more help.

It's alright. Thanks for the help anyways. Now you got me thinking about other options haha.

Cant he just get a stocker t25 or 14b and get that running instead of higer end 20g's etc that wont even push 10psi on stock 420 internals?

Oh, and youd also need to tap the comp housing or intake pipe next to the turbo to anser your original question

Aww man, please dont even do this. Do a lot more research, your engine will last 2.5seconds if the ebay turbo will even spool before you hit fuel cut. You seem to be missing a lot of parts if you could post up a parts list of what you actually have / are getting then we could recommend a turbo. If your on a budget its cheaper to buy a 4g63, but in the end its your choice but your starting off with a bigger then your engine can handle ebay turbo, with no supporting mods.
Also I'm not sure but if that turbo is externally gated then you need to google the difference so you know.

Anything would be better then the ebay turbo. :thumb: This is a good point.
