Just wondering how i fix my car which is flooded tryed holding down pedle it will start but then die after 2 seconds? And yes all other things have ben checked and i know it is flooded please help?

thnanks

well, there's 2 ways you can do this:

-the "fun" way:
pull out your spark plugs (one at a time so you dont get anything mixed up) get a GLOVE unless you want to get rid of the hair on your hand, now get one of those lighter with the really long handles like people use to light a stove or candles...... stick it down in that hole where the spark plug goes and pull that triger. poof! voila, no more gas in your cylinder! please be carefull when doing this, and do it at your own risk.

the non-dangerous way:
just unplug all your fuel injectors and turn your engine over for awhile. they're between the valve cover and the intake and have 2 wires runing into each one. good luck, i hope this helps.

I take it you didn't see the Aborigine riots on TV last nite in Australia?
In particular the part where they were throwing the Molotov Cocktails?
You may want to keep up with current events a little more...

Also:

Don't hold the pedal down when cranking it. Just let it do its thing while starting, we don't use carburetors. I believe _some_ cars completely cut fuel if you floor it while trying to start it, but I'm not sure if ours do (it's code in the ECU that does it).

oo, you ment flooded with gas... i thought you ment you flooded your car in a "flood" with like water and stuff and couldnt get it started.LOL you can prolly guess how smart i feel right now.

Holding the throttle down should help. A fuel injected car shuts off the injectors when it's in a wide open throttle state and not running.

You may want to remove the spark plugs and let the car sit for a while. This will let the fuel evaporate. Also, if the plugs are fouled out from all that fuel you will need to replace them as well.

p.s. Using a lighter : Bad

Yea you have two options

1. kill the injectors and turn her over enough times

or

2. kill the injectors , turn her over a few times, then take out the spark plugs, clean the spark plugs, get about a tea spoon of oil in each cylinder, turn her over a few times, and then put anti-seze on your plugs put them in and start her up.

if she still does start up one of two things no spark or you maf is givng you ecu wrong info...

alright my car will start for 1-2 sec than die i try again and just a back fire after that nothing. I have ben pulling out the plugs and there still damp. When trying to start the car i hold down the gas and than let go after it starts.

What else is there?, what can i check for when looking at the maf, also getting spark cause i took out one of the spark plugs and tuche metal while turning it on and there was spark.

Pretty sure injection systems don't have accelerater pumps as do carbs, which means You could pump the gas pedal a million times & it won't flood the car! Follow the cable from the gas pedal--it only opens the throttle plate & allows air into the motor. The gas enters the motors via the injectors which fire when the ECU tells them to
If your spark plugs are wet, then you are not getting either air or spark, & I'm betting 1 peso on no spark.

Sometimes when ECU's die they put the Injectors on wide open - It'll flood the cylinders & eventually flood the crankcase.

- By chance do you have a Power Steering Fluid leak on your Alternator?

Also when an ECU goes, the car will die out shortly after having run for a short time (matter of seconds). I suggest pulling the ecu out and checking the capacitors on it for leakage. It's an easy removal and install and doesn't cost you anything to check it yourself.

i thought only 1G's had the leaking capacitor problem. i did a few searches on it...but the ECU could still be bad. good luck!:thumb:

You might be right on that I'm not sure. Perhaps a quick pm or two to some other wisemen with more 4g63 experience would help clear that up.

Ive heard of a few 2gs that had leaky caps, but this is very very few. I believe the symtoms were a bucking and hesitation, followed by the car dying and not firing. Although i could be wrong, i dont think your caps are bad. Try letting the fuel air out and cut the injectors as everyone has been saying. And stay off the gas chief, its not a 89 carb accord.

Ended up being that the spark plugs needed to be changed after running all that gas through it, who sould have thought.
