How can you tell the difference between...

A 2g awd starter and 2g GST starter? I found one in my garage and I had both cars and I dont remember which starter I took off.

Im pretty sure there isnt any difference in the starters. At least I never have seen a difference from my GST to my friends GSX starters... Im sure theyre the same though.

They are the same. The flywheels are different which cause the problems..

There is no difference between the GS-T/GSX starter, its the auto/manual starter thats different and the plate that it mounts on.

95-99 M/T and 95-99 A/T are, not sure about the 1g's though.
