how can I tighten my SSQ

I put on an ssq today and the bov sounds really loose....under low boost it doesnt flutter at all. and high boost (17psi its more of a whoose then a whistle.....it bearly whistles and never flutters.....is there a way to tighten the spring? or is my vac leaking

My SSQV swiveled on the flange when I had it on and it held boost fine.

im talking about the spring or w/e....it doesnt flutter at all....doesnt sound like a ssq and it doesnt have any of the inserts in it.....the valve isnt closing tight enough...and I dont see any adjustment screw on the back.

Is it recirculated? And if it is the new style of HKS SSQV then they don't have a way to adjust them.

If there is no sound fin, that is why it doesn't sound like a normal HKS.


And flutter is bad. You don't want flutter. Sounds like your fine.

The HKS shouldn't flutter. The whole purpose of it having two valves eliminates surge.

Yes my HKS SSQV don't flutter during any boost levels or rpm. I have heard that the older hks SSQV are not that well made and will damage your car some how.

There should be a little set screw on the back. Just turn it to the right until you have the sound you like. But yeah, like he said, the new ones you cant adjust them I don't think. The have like a double spring something or other. Good luck,.

well I dont have the new new ssq, not the one that has a new casing but it also doesnt have the adjusting bolt on the back. I was thinking of opening it up and putting a washer in there or something....And I didnt say I wanted it to surge, Just the sound that the ssq makes is a fluttering whistle...except mine is just a faint whistle with a bunch of air behind it....I get into the bigger chamber with only 5psi
