Hey, I finally got my horn to work after not having one for months, sort of.

Horn buttons work fine, horn is brand new, but everytime I press the horn button it will sound for about 1 second and then the fuse will start to click.

I get a new fuse, put it in the fuse box under the hood, press the horn button and it will sound for about 1 second and then the fuse will start to clikc.

Now, when I look at the fuses that are clicking, they look fine, they don't look blown.

What could be causing this?

Thanks

im guessing its a short somewhere in the wiring from the horn back, the fuse you have most likely isnt faulty, just not getting enough juice to it??.....oh and btw where did you get horn at? and how much? i need a new horn bc mine has never worked and junkyards never have them :(

First, I've never heard of a fuse "clicking," they either conduct or melt. What you're hearing is probably the horn relay. I would replace that first (probably a couple bucks), and if the problem persists trace the wiring and look for cracks and/or scorch marks in the insulation. You can start at the horn itself or the steering column either way it will be a lot of electrical tape stripping, and if you're anything like me... a lot of cursing.

we had this same thing happen - when we got the car, the horn relay just clicked. So, while at the junk yard today we picked up a new horn. It honked once and won't honk again. Could it still be the relay? I swapped it with the headlight relay and it still didn't work (and I know the headlights work, so I am assuming it's not the relay) The relay is just clicking again. Why would it kill another horn? Any ideas anybody???
