My honda neighbour tried to put his slimfans on his radiator with zipties and put holes through the fins now the damn thing leaks is there a fix or is it gone for good. by the way its a koyo

First off, slap the kid across the face.. :|

Where exactly are the holes in the koyo? If they're aren't in the fins then there's a chance you can get it to hold with high temp epoxy or jb weld, but sometimes this doesn't work (it didn't for me).

Sorry, forgot to add that when you try this be sure the surface is very clean and dry.

^ +10,000 slaps on the face LOL. anyways he is shit out of luck because once you put a hole on those radiators they are very hard to fix. if the holes are not to big it can probably be fixed with jbweld but that sometimes doesnt hold very well due to the material the radiator is made off.

he shouldn't have put a hole though the tubes, just the fins.. that wont cause a leak if done properly.

Some fans are designed to be mounted in this fashion, its how i mounted my slimfan on my aluminum rad on my honda, i never had a problem.

I bet you did it, and you just dont want to sound like too much of a complete moron! He is only half a dummy, just a complete dummy, just be glad he didn't buy a DSM anyone thats a 'honda dummy' would probably burn down their DSM ROFL

I didn't do it seriously, I put water in it today and wow its bleeding bad. I try and get pics but he messed it up bad I can't even see whats inside cause the fins are so small. I think its dead but its a great unit.

P.S he dynoed his prelude yesterday 480 to the wheels God damn I will never see that on my 2g gsx. Routed manifolds upwards so he can retain a/c, gt3076r stands out when its sitting above the hood people stare at it like a see through playboy mansion.

double UGH! Turbo through the hood?? Zip Ties through the radiator?? A HONDA? B*tch slap this guy, he needs to get out of the game..480hp or not. and a gsx will see that easy with that turbo he's running. Keep in mind, your 4g63 can handle that on stock internals..I don't think any honda can say the same

Atleast you said you 'dont' think ;).

FYI, his prelude is probably built and sleeved, you cant run aftermarket pistons in their stock sleeves, so he probably has a aebs or GE sleeves and some aftermarket forged pistons.

The 2nd one he didn't even turn it that high, they see 9.5k stock. I guess the dyno operator didn't tell him he was supposed to keep turning it untill it turned into a 10k lawn ornament, or until his credit cards were on fire. he should have been thinking with his adrenaline glands like the rest of us.

Props to him for 600whp setup on a stock 2.0L motor, any 2.0L for that matter, and it could have easily made high 600's if he spun it a bit more.

he has gone all out on motor, ferrea all the way except no cams but rev limit is @ 8200 rpms, fully built motor sleeved with wiseco pistons and pauter rods. Trust me he refuses to buy anything thats not name brand, in other words money is not an option. Manifold is custom made to face upwards i'll try and get some pics so for now save judgements for later. He is a dummy because he thinks he knows all and when he messes he just pays someone to fix it.

Ex: He has a fully built sr20 that is extensively built and was in the process of break in when he noticed blue smoke. He blamed the machine shop for a bad head job, I said hey most likely your piston rings but no. Long story short payed other machine shop to redo work but yet still blue smoke finally he payed other shop to tear down block and what do you know bad ring installation. The man refused to do a leak down test or anyother options because he was sure of what he thought. Go figure.

Oh did I mention he cut his greddy muffler on the 240 and replaced it with a resonator after I begged not to do it. The mans exhuast is so straight you can fit to vibrant resonators next to each other in the line but no he had to cut the muffler away. So fully built and sleeved sr20 with gt35r and 1200cc plus untuned apexi fc oh year hks 264/272 what do you think it sounded like.

One more story, so I tell him your going to kick my evo3's ass with that gt30 but at your lowest boost setting 330whp( high 480 mid 418 low 330) I can take you because of my awd. Actually you burn rubbing all the way to fifth on the other boost settings so hey i'll probably kick your ass all the way baby hahahahaha awd dsm baby hahahaha. I go home he calls me to his house the next day and what do you know he bought a 90 tsi awd on ebay and has already bought wiseco pistons, pauter rods, another gt35r(garret ass licker) and everything else(literally). At this point I'm just quiet and he says oh by the way the 1g head you love so much has hydrolic lifter POS can't rev much so I have to upgrade all.

NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS OWNED REALLY BAD.

Does he work? Mom and Dads money? Either way thats very tough to compete with. Hey al least you have common sense. Doesn't sound like this kis does his own work.

built not bought, this statement goes a long way... Who ever is willing to use Zip ties when they used "only brand name" products, i hope they were brand name zip ties.. :nono:
