I just installed my HKS Type 1 turbo timer on my galant as per this Tech Guide. Snapped in the harness. Soldered the grey wire to the green/red ebrake wire. Soldered the blue wire to the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) #18 pinout on the ECU harness. Soldered the brown wire to the Ignition Pulse Detect (tach) #109 pinout on the ECU harness. Grounded the black wire.

The timer comes on in ACC mode and while the car is running. The RPM and Speed features all work and appear accurate. The timer will count down after I turn the car off and flash blue/red, beep, and act like it's timing down, but the car shuts off. According to the HKS Manual online, if the Ebrake is not engaged the turbo timer will NOT even count down and will shut off.

Anyone have a similar experience or anything I should check for?

I definitely used a harness. It would be hard to mess something up there. Theres only 3 other wires and I know they are wired correctly and soldered well. The accuracy of the RPM and speed features affirm that aswell.

I just cut the ebrake safety wire for kicks to see what would happen knowing that I could easily butt-splice it back together and after turning the car off the turbo timer completely turns off. It doesnt even count down, so it's behaving like the manual says it should if the ebrake safety wire isnt installed properly.

I'm at a loss.

I bought the alarm harness and it is indeed different. It didnt come with any instructions, so I need some assitance...

The alarm harness has a red and green wire coming off of the tt harness. Does anyone know what wires I need to cut and splice into these buttsplices? The only install guides that I have found are the one on VFAQ for a retardedly confusing 2G and one on here for a 1g which makes no mention of these alarm wires.

Follow Up: Just wired up a new Greddy Full Auto TT and it works like a champ. I used all the same wires that I did with the HKS TT so it was conclusively a faulty timer, as proved by the multimeter test. I should have been reading 12V during countdown on either the blue or green wire (red is a constant 12V) and both of them read at .02-.04 MILLI volts... dead TT.
