HKS evc II what a joke.

I tried to help my friend install a used HKS evc II the other day. wow where the hell are you suppost to poke that huge wire loom through the firewall. I tried to tell him to just buy a dual stage boost controller or even a regular boost controller but he insists on this. so is there any good ideas on where to stick a wire loom that is probably 3/4" thick through the firewall.

and how old is this. it really seems like some kind of dinosaur product.

Your friend buys the cheap version of a product, and since you can't figure out how to use a knife on a rubber gromet you want to give it a bad review. I dare ask if you even got it installed to see if it actually WORKS well? Don't even bother searching for how to route wires through the firewall.

OK maby i should have gave more of my opinion. I do think its a little much just for controlling boost. this box the size of two packs of cigarettes and a huge wire loom. I just think electronic boostcontrollers are a waste of money. So anyways your saying to put it thought the steering boot along with the other stuff thats going through it. I mean the wire loom is big. Im just a firm believer in good old ball and spring type boost controllers.

Tim, I know exactly what your saying. I installed one on a car that wasn't a DSM before and I definately feel your pain. Yes I would recommend just taking it through the boot around the steering.

Ofcourse, if you don't want to half-ass it, I would drill another hole through the firewall and install an adequate grommet. It's not hard at hard. Just be sure to know what you're drilling into!!!

Thats retarded why do people always ruin the steering boot and, tangle their wires around moving parts. There's plenty of room to put wires through where the main wire harness runs through the firewall right behind the battery on the passenger side.

I would rather run it there as well if it will fit.

already tried the main wireharness thing anyways. you have to pull out the grommet. then stick it through. well actually he tried it. while i watched. but there is a bunch of crap covering the wire harness hole. thats what he pointed out. then i pointed out that having your main wire harness rubbing up against bare metal with out the protection of the grommet was probably one of the worst ideas ever.
