im getting a 1996 gsx it has an aftermarket bov (not sure what kind) venting to the atmosphere. the only thing wrong with it is it has a vaccum leak. the car is in good shape. its got 76,000 miles on it and im getting it for about 7,000 can i please get help on weather this is a good investment or will i just get screwed in the long run? thanks brendon

I bought my car with the BOV venting to the atmosphere, but I swapped it out for obvious performance reasons. If you really want this car and it has no other noticeable problems besides the BOV venting to the atmosphere then get it. But I would look into recirculating it if you can...If you can then you could just swap for a good inexpensive BOV like the 1G that recirculates.

I started off with an evo III 16g turbo with a knock off HKS BOV - anything past 7 psi and the blow off was ear peircingly loud. I blew the evo turbo and put on a SBR .50 trim with a blow through MAF-T setup. At 10psi of boost,WOT, all i get is that annoying flutter. The bov has its own vacuum source off of the intake manifold, i tried the adjustment screw all the way in, all the way out, and completely off. Ive torn apart the bov, lightly greased all of the components to ensure a good seal, and still i have that fluttering sound. Im at a complete loss, and dont know where to look next.. HELP!

edit : since i am running the GM MAFT setup i just put an intake cone right on the turbo
