is there a way to hide my aftermaket BOV so i can pass a smog test in cali? is there a DIY or a HOW TO some here? is it even possable? i have a manuel boost controller and im getting a 255 in the mail soon, im thinking of raising the boost from 12psi to 16psi but im thinking i should get some injectors too? im just looking for an extra hummph from my Stock 97 GSX

With having an aftermarket upper intercooler pipe, I don't think you can hide it. putting on the stock piping would be easiest. I hope you know you need an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator for a 255, but not for a 190. To increase injectors you first need to have some sort of fuel management. And to increase boost you need to have a logger. To be blunt, the order would go...

1) logger
2) boost controller
3) fuel pressure regulator
4) fuel pump
5) fuel management
6) injectors

^^1.5)Boost Gauge, and before any crazy fuel mods, do you have a full exhaust/intake?

No need to hide it, i have tons of mods too, and my car does not look stock, well it does, but in a very new paint glossy weird way, check my profile, and see my gallery to see what the smog tech saw..

i passed no problem.

you should only worry if your going to the state ref, or you know you wont pass the sniffer test, or removed emissions equipment.

your mod list on your "95 gst" leads me to believe you should know if you need injectors or not to raise the boost, and this kind of situation shouldnt be anything new.

yea i read your posting red, ( FU**ING great reading, made me feel a lot better about upgrades) thats why im asking that part that read "hks ssqv bov, recirculated of course" i thought that ment that you were hinding the bov?! well if its not that then what is it? i want to get a HKS SSQV i love the sound of it.

recirculated is the PROPER and the way you SHOULD run any kind of BOV you put on DSMs. Meaning it goes back to the intake tract, just like stock setup. If not your car will run like crap, horrible gas mileage, possible CE lights. Of course there is a proper way to do it running blow-thru setups, but there are many threads on it.

So sorry to burst your bubble, you wont be having the signature HKS SSQV sound unless you run it the wrong way, or get a gm-maf/blow-thru/eliminate the MAS somehow.

read..

but if i eliminate the MAS wont that affect my emmisions? i still need to pass a smog test, well i guess the bov is out, i rather feel power then hear it....

What? Please post in discernible English. Oh and do not eliminate your MAS. Ever. ESPECIALLY if you want to pass any form of emissions testing.
