Hi, im new to the site, pretty much, ive got a 95 talon, on 17" wheels, the wheel gap i have is awful, id like to keep the rims for a while, they are freshly painted and i like the dark green with white look. Well what im asking is which lowering springs should i go with, and that arent too expensive as im only 17 with minumum wage working at wendys  thank you in advanced :)

I have the Tokiko blue shock and spring package with 17" wheels and my wheel gap is 3/4 inch. Hope that helps.

If you're looking for good springs. Try the Teins at ExtremeTurboSystems.com

They're about 195? And they're nice. I use them, and have had no problems.
I also have 17's with 245 tires.

These are the 16 inch stock rims with my teins and kyb struts.

You can get the idea. These are the 17's. Haven't gotten any good pics.

This is my buddy jays awd. He's on skunk2 coilovers. Cheap and seem to work fine from ebay.

Hope this is a help.

If you end up with some extra money, you can't go wrong with eibach sportlines.

thank you, ive heard lowering springs are much better than coilovers...so which brand is better? i know tein is a good brand, its well-known, and are the eibach sportlines better than the teins? also, i looked at the rear and i believe i already have kyb shocks, but i think its stock, bc it has mistubishi on it??

You can go 2 ways 1) buy a brand of shocks and then a brand of springs or 2) you can buy a sprink & shock kit which comes with the shocks, springs, boots and aditional hardware. Hope this helps

okay thank you all! and yes they are pretty nice wheels dsmer541 i do like them, and goes great with the dark green ;) and i am most likely gonna go with the tein springs, i can get the for about $175 shipped on ebay, but should i get shocks too? it says that the springs will work good with stock shocks, but i want to make sure before i do so....

i plan on boosting it, figured suspension was first bc i would like to know that it handles well, plus i am in need of the springs and probably some new struts bc i think the struts are what rattles when i hit a bump ?? idk what it could be, havent gotten down and looked at it, but i hit a bump and it just sounds like something is rattling

okay, quick question also, i am looking at the tein lowering springs on ebay for $174 shipped, it says it only drops 1.3 in front and 1.2 in back.... i am kinda iffy bc i dont think that will be enough to even close half the gap i have, would getting shocks help lower it as well or will the 13/1.2 be enough??

Remember if you lower it to much then you have to look at tire size, camber and fender rolling. What are the dementions of the wheels and tires you will be running.

Most likely if your hearing rattleing when you hit a bump your struts are gone.

also whats fender rolling? ive always heard of it but have never gotten a real good explanation?? and camber as well, people talk about camber kits, idk what a camber is, sorry if i sound dumb or annoying bc im asking all these questions, that i should know...but i was never taught anything about suspension LOL

Why not just bump up your tire size and save the trouble. I wanted to lower my NT at one point to then i took off my front bumper and saw that even at the stock hight it was bashed to hell and being in ohio you have about pot holes i understand lowering cars for show or race but it its your DD your only gonna slam your front end off more things then you do now. just go with a 205 60 and most of your problems will go away if you would like i can show u how i just upped my tire size and it took care of alot of gap..... i was also running 205/40 and had horriable gap

anyhow hope it helps

hello,

I have decided to try out the Megan Racing springs. THey are about $100+shipping from Slow Boy Racing. They came packaged well, and the quality is very good, impressive for the price. Ride quality is rather good, although Some Eibach Pro Kits or Tein springs will suit nicer, these are great for the price.

Here is how my car looks now with the springs. This is the only angle I have at the moment, sorry :(

artindsm thanks but my car has been lower before, and if you go at hills or something at an angle, you wont scrape at all, i had the same front bumper you have, the evo 5 with blitz sides, with the stock bumper on i can drop about 2 and half inches before being at the low i was with the bumper and sides on, no offense, but stock is better =/, oh heres a pic of what my car looked like with the kit on as well

okay, so i went out earlier and took a picture of my wheel gap for you guys to see how terrible it is :(

You need some tire around those rims, I'm running 225/45 17 with a 40mm offset lowered about 1.5 inches and I have no issues. Here go to this thread and look at it, it will tell you what size tire is needed for what size rim as well as lowering so you don't rub. It helped me out alot when I got my new rims and lowering kit. I have a 2 finger gap now and it rides great.
