Help With Clutch And Flywheel-Help Quick!!!

Did you put the disc in properly? What does the pedal feel like? Is it soft and going to the floor? Did you lose fluid from the master cylinder? Please give some specifics as to what you are experiencing.

We have the engine and trany out of the car and they have the new clutch and flywheel installed and there is no pressure on the pivot fork. We are pushing right were the slave cylinder would be and we feel that there is to much play on the pivot fork. So we unbolted the trany and looked at the clutch and the forks on the pressure plate are flat is that how the pressure plate should look?

The pivot fork will have lots of play until you install the slave cylinder. It should move back and forth a ways. And you aren't going to be able to just push on the fork and get it to disengage the clutch. That pressure plate is inexcess of 2000lbs. i'm guess and you can just push it with your hand. You won't know until you put it in and hook the slave cylinder to it so the fluid pressure can work on it. Also the fingers on the pressure plate shouldn't be flat they should be bent out all the way around so that the TOB matches up to them perfectly.

Sounds normal. Only way to tell is to hook the slave cylinder to it and see if it disengage's the clutch when you push it.

The fingers on the pressure plate should be flat. I know this because I am having the same problem with my ACT set-up. ACT and a couple of other DSMers all say the fingers should be flat. Check the step of the flywheel. It should be between .608" and .610" I'm thinking that is what is wrong with mine. Also the disc goes in with the hub part facing the transmission (in case it was accidently put in backwards).

Don't feel bad, I've been on the forum searching for days for all this info so I'm just passing it on to save you some search time.
