Help with antenna removal

how do you get that out? Thing's broken and every time I simply crank the engine to test something I have to listen to it grind away for 13 loooong seconds.

You can just unplug it and you won't have to listen to it. If you want to remove it than you will have to remove the interior panel, unhook the wiring connector, unscrew the nut on the top and unbolt the assembly. From there you can pull it out and install a working one.
