help!!!!!!! supra smic

ok i cant not get this thing to fit right!!!!!! it keeps kickin out too far back and pushin the bumper out. i need someone with a 1g that has it in there right to give me a few tips. i checked vfaq and ive done everything in terms of cutting all the pieces out. but when i attach my licp it just wont fit.

They are hard to fit in there. Did you trim the inside of the bumper to make it fit a better? Even then my hung to low and stuck out. Just how it goes. I've seen some people have it fit prefectly, and ive seen others that cant get it to fit perfect (me) i finally gave up and got a FMIC. THere are better vfaqs out there you just have to search. i guess ill try to cram it in there and c what happens. it fits perfect until i put my licp on. then it pushes back out. sounds like i need to mod my lower pipe a lil bit. anyone else with 1g experience is welcome. Thanks!

just cut the LICP, if it is pushing it out then it is obviously too long.

well i got it in there and it works. its not that the pipe is too long but rather the bends arent 100% right. nevertheless its on and the car seems to move pretty good. i hit fuel cut at wot so i dont know exactly how much power is there. i think to compensate for the passenger side being kicked out a lil bit ill just kick the drivers side out. its not like its gonna hurt anything. just take the splash gaurd off and use somethin to pry it out a bit. overall i think its gonna b ok. all i gotta do now is strap the ic to the car to make sure it doesnt fall off.

what licp did you use? I used dejon and it fit horribly. Their uicp pipe didnt fit any better either.

licp is custom. i got it off a guy who had a supra smic setup ona 1g. uicp is a dejontool and i had to buy a piece of silicon tubing to extend the pipe to get that to fit. yea the licp came with a bend and its almost perfect, but its just not eough bend to keep the ic from pushin back out. i think im just gonna push the driver's side of the bumper out to match the ic side and call it a day. im sick of playin with it. it gives its a wider lookin stance anyways. ill post pics when i finish it this week.

Did you take the tank off and flip it around? I had no problems with mine.

yea i flipped the top tank. i think it would b rather impossible to get it to fit if i didnt. its my lower pipe thats pushin it out. its really not that big of a deal. my splash guard wont go back on and the bumper is pushed out a lil bit but its really not that big of a deal. im looking into changing the 90 elbow that i have comin off the intercooler. its 2.5" all the way up to the turbo. the elbow is a lil excessive and makes for a rouch mount by the frame. if it was smaller i think i could push the whole thing in more and it would b a lil better. ill try it how it is and c what happens. silverawd is u have pics of your setup that would b sweet. I had the same deal plus it looks all ghetto rigged in there. i cut the bumper and the frame rail even to try to get it fit. i would say just shorten your ic pipes or even possaible jurry rig something up w/ soft pipe then drive to a mom and pop exhaust place and have them custom bent you something that will fit perfectaly

As a side note, I fit an MKIV smic on the 97 GSX and it fits like it was made to be there.

on a 2g there is more room on the smic area so yes you can put a supra smic in there and it looks pretty natural.
