HELP PLZ ASAP...need to know by tomorrow

hey guys, my car is running in mint shape(finally) and now this problem happened...i duno what it is but ill try to explain the best i can. i am running an open exhaust,stock boost and k&n air intake. now the problem im having is when the car is in 1st or any gear for that matter around 4000 rpm its starts to like stutter and it seems like the car is back firing or a popping type noise and i have to let the gas go push it again, then it does the same thing but when i push the gas a lil harder to raise the revs it stops doing that and the car picks up and its boosting. it was suggested that there is a boost leak...but im not sure how to check for that. and i also have a slipping clutch which i dont think is related to this. can someone help me please!! asaap!! thanks a lot!!

www.vfaq.com look here to check for boost leaks, and no your slipping clutch wont do that. you could be creeping and hitting fuel cut MAYBE, I remeber right before I tore the t25 off when I raced the engine in any gear it would ever so slightly stutter...then I realized I was pushing a good bit of boost. go to vfaq and do the leak test. good luck

it cant be fuel cut because the car still pushes after i let the gas go and push it again and the rpms jump from 4 to 6 when the turbo is spooling...so i dont think its fuel cut...
perhaps a boost leak....but would a boost leak cause that...
anyhow let me see what others have to say as well coz im so losttttttt......

a boost leak will cause a stutter, because your MAS is reading a lot of air going into the engine, but the leak is letting a good portion of that air out. So, your ecu injects lots of gas for the amount of air it thinks is in the engine, which is too much... and you run rich, so it chokes/stutters on the extra gas.

but... you say, if the rpms go higher than 4000 rm the stutter goes away?

ya!!!!!!!!!!! thats what it does...but it goes away after i let the pedal go and push it down again and happens again in every gear around that rpm and up high at 6-7krpm as well...so im assuming its a leak somewhere...

does it stutter at 4000 rpm while just cruising, or free reving, or oly under boost? it would only stutter if it was a boost leak, and you are under high boost.

You may want to check your plugs and wires...I had a very bad stuttering problem just like you describe and that is what solved it. I may be wrong but sounds similar to the problem I had.

it does only under boost!!!!! and now i just checked my intercooler and saw there air leaking from it!! i guess theres a hole there i better open it up and check...would i be able to JB weld that??? and i guess the black smoke from my car was from it running rich as well.....
