I know everyone says to ditch the amp and get new speakers.. I don't want to do that. I don't care too much about the music in the car other than I'd like it to come out of all speakers. I don't need it to shake the neighborhood, I just want stock sound like with stock deck.. That being said...

I bought a wiring harness and I have a Jensen HU. I hooked up the wiring harness fine, and the HU plays, but nothing out of the front speakers. After some searching, I found out I need this harness:

So, I bought that. I did not use the square harness since I already hooked up a harness. I'm trying to hook up that other piece that has the four RCAs and teh remote line.

I plugged it in, and I tried every combo I could think of. My HU has four pre-outs, twi in back, two in front. If I hook up the remote line, the speakers up front work, but everythign is really weak and static - also the car's interior lights flicker and dim, so I know something is wrong.

Can anyone tell me exactly how I should be hooking this up to get sound out of all speakers like the stock HU??

I know almost nothing about car audio - any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks

whats the radio model? do you have a pic of the head unit?
The square looks like the piece that plugs into the factory amp for the speakers, are you sure you have the right plug already wired in like you said?
If it is an aftermarket headunit then that thing with all the rca cables shouldn't be needed.

Is what you need to hook up a radio to the talon. It comes with 2 square connectors.
Also weak and static is an indication of power interruption. If a power wire, including a remote line, running by a speaker wire can set off static in the speaker

I gotta change my profile! This is for 98 GSX with Jensen HU...

Sorry :ohdamn: my bad, you DO have the right connectors. Are you sure you have it setup right?

My money is on the Jensen HU... I'd be willing to bet that you only have one speaker output and sub output. If you switch the rca's around, can you get the sound to come out of the rear? And have you disconnected the speaker wires from the HU to the car? How's your ground? The rca's on the front are 99.99% likely to be inputs. And as Usatuff said, "Are you sure you have it setup right?"
