Pro-comp ultra-lite A/F gauge comes with red, black and purple wires.

Im guessing the red is positive and black is negative for the light display and the purple is the ECU hookup?

If so can anyone explain where to hook to the ECU. The Vfaq.com pics are not showing up on my comp and im not sure where to hook it up.

Thanks

Red is positive and black is negative yes. The purple needs to be tapped into the ecu harness im sure because u 2g guys dont have that little connector under the pass dash like we 1g guys have. Go to Vfaq and find out which color wire belongs to the oxygen sensor and figure out a way to tap into that line without cutting it. The A/F gauge kits usually come with these little brown connectors for that. They clamp on the A/F Gauge purple wire and the ecu wire. My honest opinion is to take that A/F Gauge back because all it does is give you a useless light show. I've installed one myself and returned it.

Well the thing to really do is get an EGT gauge. Because with an A/F gauge the condition is happening after the fact. During the holidays I kinda like seeing the Christmas lights :D

When you put a load on the engine the A/F gauge will give you a steady reading so it's not all a light show
Sure it will give you a steady reading, the question is how accurate and useful is this steady reading. ;) The only function of an A/F gauge is to verified that you have a working O2 sensor and that the system enters close loop when suppose to.

It will only tell you that you are or are not running lean at wot.
Thats all they are meant to do. You should not be tuning with this device, its just to give you a general idea. I have one in my beater and has been useful to me.(had a bad set of injectors and the guage told me so).
