Installing Autometer Oil Pressure Gauge????

Does anyone have any suggestion on where to install the Autometer Oil Pressure Gauge line? I have the pillar mount for it, but I don't know where to hook into or tap into. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anything more specific? Like where in the oil filter housing? Do I have to tap into it, or is there a plug I can undo and access?

you need to a T fitting for the oil press switch your gauge should of supplied a line or a sending unit if its electrical. you can get the T at any auto store. on one end you well screw into your block where the oil pressure switch was on the other end well be the your oil pressure switch and the other one well be were your compression fitting for the oil line for mechanical gauge if its a electric that's were your sending unit goes.

on the oil filter housing are some hex-shaped plugs. get an allen wrench and remove one of them. the thread is 3/8" NPT (it's actually BPT, but NPT works).

since you're asking where to put the line, I'm assuming you have a mechanical gauge. I would get a stainless steel braided line and ditch the nylon one that it comes with.

people were telling me that I HAD to have something better than that cheap nylon hose, but I've been using the nylon hose for about 3month now for my autometer oil pressure guage with no problems. If you do use the nylon one just make sure your run it where it wont rub up against something or get kinked. Otherwise the stainless steel line would be a good investment if you're worried about the nylon one.

Where would I go to get the Stainless Steel Braided line? Is it something I could pick up the hardware store or an auto parts store?
