Ok, i work at infinity of cincinnati. the saturn lot a few lots down has a clean 90 tsi awd for sale with a bad clutch. the salesman says the car is not driveable. it was blocked in at the time so i didnt try to move it. over all the car is clean (engine is dirrrty) and bone stock. it has 128k on it. it runs good from what i could tell in the 3 minutes i had it running. they were asking 2000, but i talked him down to 1200. i figure if a show up with a grand and a trailer i could take it. what should i look for? is 1200 a fair price? please help me out here, im going to look at it with my dad tomorow, and if he thinks it looks good im gonna *push* it a few lots down to the mitsu dealer for a 160 point full inspection which is gonna be about 250. please help me out so i dont make a mistake here. this is gonnabe my first awd turbo dsm and im excited. thanks

$2000 for a 90? holy S*** batman...I only paid 2500 for my 2g awd. IF you really want it then go for it...I'd say you could probably find one cheaper, or if you're set on this one...have the inspection done before the sale...no reasonable dealer would refuse you taking it down the block for an inspection as a prerequisite for sale.

where in the hell did you find a 2g awd for 2500 at? i paid 2000 for mine and it came with no motor and the rest of the car in pieces in the back.

Well you hope that it's just a bad clutch. If it something more than that you could be looking at alot of money in the tranny and or diff area. When my tranny went it took out the diff and took a crap load of money to fix..

good lord, I paid 2,500 for my laser. I would say that after a clutch, under 2 grand would be a good deal.
Slipstream, did your car have any problems when you bought it. the two years or so I have been on here, I never saw you. Since I noticed you are from windsor, I have seen you all over.

personally if you can get if for a grand that isn't all that bad. Even if the tranny turns out to be bad. I would still pick it up only if the interior and exterior were very clean meaning in great shape. Worse come to worse you find a JDM engine and tranny combo and you got a clean 1g with jdm motor and trans. otherwise just find a used tranny. just look at it more carfuly and decide how much money you can afford to spend on it and how much are you will to spend on it.

Plus in my opinion 1g's especially 90-91 tight looking

he said he talked him down to $1200..so all ur holy shits has now turned into HOLY SHITTTTTTT!!!!!! LOL. ya, i always see them around $2500 and +.

i went and looked at it again today with my dad. he thought it was in good shape. im going to have it inspected before i buy it, and im thinking that 1200 is a pretty good deal. the body is absolutely perfect, the interior is near perfect. the only thing that kind of worrys me is the motor is pretty dirty. but if it checks out ok at mitsu, im gonna buy it i think, spend maybe a grand tops getting it back into tip top shape, and have a nice stock awd turbo for 2200

hmm...I looked at the same car I think LOL. I would have got it if I had the money.

If all it is is a blown clutch, good find :thumb:

Drag it to mitsu and have em check it out at the dealers expense, and you will pay for it later at closing time if everything checks out. That should take your risks out if it turns out to be shot. Best of luck to ya
