also my ignition switch sometime wont turn on the car i have to turn the key like 3 to 6 time before the starter cranks can it be the switch or the starter how can i check it or fix it

thanks

I also have this ignition problem. Sometimes when I turn the key, I get nothing, car doesn't even try to turn over. What could this be? After toggling the key back and forth between settings it will eventually start. Hmm..

I also have this same problem and i know its gotta be something in the steering column
or a relay.I have a remote start installed and it will start the car fine anytime the key wont so i think it has to be a relay or something...Can anyone help on this?????

door locks=dirty switch contacts, bad solenoid on that lock or no power to that side.. easy to narrow down...if it won't elctro lock from either door panel then it's the solenoid or no juice..use a multi-meter to find out if there is juice...if yes...bad solenoid..if no...you have a shorted wire/bad connection etc.

ignition. I've heard of this problem a lot lately and it almost always comes down to worn ignition contacts. without replacing the ignition (expensive) you can install a push to start button...the key still has to be turned on but you push the button (momentary switch) to actually crank the motor...do a search for it on the site or use google..there are lots of kits to acomplish this but you can do it cheap and easy if you know a little about electricity and switches
