Ok, i'm doing a auto to manual swap on my 91 TSi awd i brought a 90 TSi awd transmission from a yard. i got the 5speed in and was see if the driver side cv shaft would work. So the intermediate shaft goes in but just wiggales in place. Is there a different intermediate and cv shaft for a 90TSi 5speed awd vs a 91TSi awd auto. if there is where can i get them? any help is useful. Thank you head of time.

You need to put a 1990 shifter assembaly and 1990 shifter cables in there as well. I have a great set with very low miles on it for extremely cheap if your interested.

The 1990 if I remember correct has a different spline count than the 91's do. The 93-94 1G's cv shafts were larger in diameter with less spline count. I do know that the 1990's transmission's shift forks inside the transmission are longer than the rest of them and problems will be ran into if using a 91-94 shifter on a 90 trans.
