2G Auto To Manual Swap Front Axle Question

Hello, just bought my first dsm month ago a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX bought the car was a auto but auto was shot so putting it back to manual as it was when previous owner bought the car. Only question I have since I'm now learning everything on DSMs is on 2g GSX what is the difference between auto and manual front axles? I've heard it's just half/intermediate shaft and other say needs 2 new front axles to work. Thanks for any help

The half shaft and passenger side axle is different auto vs manual however the driver side axle is the same.
