Head Unit kicks off when stopped

I have a JVC HU and it works perfectly fine when I'm driving my car. But whenever I come to a stop sign or red light when the bass EQ from the HU is turned up the HU will keep kicking off till I start moving again.. Sometimes I can hold my break in and give alittle gas and the HU doesnt kick off but not always. I noticed when my car is stopped if i turn the HU EQ down to -1 through -6 the HU wont kick off but anything on the EQ 0-6 (6 being max) the HU will kick off till I start moving..

... What is wrong please help thanks

you have a charging problem....check your volts through a logger or safc or soemthign of hte like as your goini down the street and at a stop...at liek 10.8 or so the stereo will cut off adn the car dies at anythign under 10.4 i had a bad experience with a bad alternator in atl

I need to get a new alternator or what? I seriously hope not

.. Whats a good tool to use to check this? where can I find it at?

go buy a volt guage..hook it up and look....or go to autozone have them test hte alternator.....also try another battery, could be a bad cell
