head unit install gone wrong?

yea so i didnt have time and this placeomnly charged 20 bucks to install head unti so i said what the hell ok. well i get the car back and the trim around the cd player (pioneer deh-p7600mp) is not there... so im like wtf it looks like ass. so i ask him and he says"well the stock cd player dash kit wont let you." is this true? am i going to have to buy a dash kit and put it in or what?

yup... most cars need the trimming (they call it a dash kit) and it'll be like $20

rip off for some peice of plastic....

but you need it. The only car that usually gets away with it is fords... and that's cuz Mustangs and f-150's are perfect size.

i installed my pioneer cd player and there was a little trim part, its about 1/4 inch thick that goes around the very outside of the cd player. and it wouldnt fit, but mine doesnt look very bad. The actual plastic dash part with all the circles in it for fan control covers the outside of the cd player pretty well, i think mine is a deh-1100 or something. the cheap kind.

Thats a lie dude, the trim ring may not have fit, but there is a thing called sand paper that they could of used to sand it down to fit. I have a scosche dash kit, and it fits fine. Pick one up a walmart and just reinstall it yourself. Takes less then 1/2 hour. If you have any questions about in, just send me a PM.

yea i can say that fords are an easy fit.. also easy to steal, i had a 96 gt and a 99 f150 and i could prob get in my truck and out with a cd player in about 10 seconds, all you do is squeez the two insides of the vents and pull... thasts it.. :thumbdown
