The guy building my motor said that when he was torquing the head studs down for the final time some of them pulled out. He was torquing them to 85 lb/ft. Has anyone ever heard of this happening before? He has the right studs(207-4201). The block checked out to be fine. This guy rebuilds motors for most of the dealerships in and around my area including Mitsu. He was highly recommended, and has 30yrs experience. He wants to use Helli-coils to repair the stripped holes. Will the coils be sufficient enough to hold high boost levels(25-30 psi). Ive used them on my valve covers before (haven't we all). I'm just not 100% sure about using them in the block. Any help would be appreciated.

im sure he should know if his work will hold up to those kind of pressures.

man - my ARP's are torqued to 110 ft lbs.

Helicoils are strong. I have seen them used on a block before and held up fine. I'd loctite them into the block if you are that worried.
