head removal

Pm here's the deal my timing belt snapped and now I'm tryin to get the head off cause of bent valves I have a new head but my problem is I can't get the old one off I have all the sensors off and unplugged all the hoses taken off and it doesn't look like anything is holding it but when I get ready to lift it out it keeps acting like the intake has a bracket or something holding it in place. Any help is greatly appreciated cause this is my dd so I need to get it back on the road

Did you remove the intake bracket? Are you pulling it off with or without the exhaust manifold?

The intake has a support bracket under it connected to block. Could that be it?

Did you get the intake manny off?

If you dont have a Chiltons or a service manual, I would look into getting one. I think the service manuals are listed here someplace. I will see if I cant find you a link to them.

That's what I am thinking. There are (3) 14mm bolts you need to remove in order to remove the bracket.

There are two or three bolts two on the intake and i believe one or so on the block, gotta get those off pita, but look for the bracket.

It is possible you don't have one. Alot of times, people don't put them back on because it is a PITA to get the bolts out like said above. But, I removed my A/C system so it isn't hard to get them out at all.

Put your hand behind the intake manifold and feel around. There are (2) bolts on the intake manifold and the other is on the bottom of the bracket that connects the bracket to the block.

I believe its two bolts for intake and two to the block. But ya, I didn't put minw back... weight reduction.

I'll have to go back and check it out the car is stock so I know its still on there. And it is located by the ax compressor right

It is smack dab in the middle of the intake manifold on the firewall side. You can see where it bolts to the intake manifold.
