Head good\bad

I have a head that im thinking about putting on my car, what are some things that i should look for to tell if it is good or not.

check for deck warpage, check the valves ...see if there burned or bent, check lifters ...see if they might have seized, check the valve seat, and if its a used head probably a good idea to replace the valve seals

I concur. If you are unable to discern what is good or bad, take it to a good machine shop and get their professional advice. May save you money and rolaids later. Good Luck
