I'm replacing the head gasket on my car. I misplaced two of the head bolt washers is it ok to replace them with Grade 8 washers of the correct size?

because my timing belt snapped with 20k on it.

I just got done shelling out 600.00 worth of valves, valve guides, belts, and gaskets. ARP's aren't in the budget. Plus the 90-91 head bolts are re-usable

Any similar size OD / ID Washer should be fine, you may find an SAE Washer makes for the best fit - Butter 'em up with Anti Sieze where they bear against the Head & Bolt Heads - Make sure you Tap the holes CLEAN to the bottom & use good grade 1/2 Drive Bits when Torquing it up.

& BTW IMO the Studs are nothing but a PITA on a 6 Bolt...

I still have my stock fasteners from when I installed ARPs when I rebuilt my motor. If you want I can send you some washers, or whatever else you want.
