Hatchback Hydralics....HEAVY!!

My hatchback seems to weigh like 200 pounds...The hotter it is outside, the heavier the lid is. Is is just the hydralics on it that need changed? They look pretty rough...

Yes, common habbit on our cars. And alot heavier if you got a spoiler on.

The trunk lid is very heavy. I have replaced the gas shocks twice. One with used ones then a set of tein.

yes...I have a spoiler...its at the point where I can't open with one hand anymore...which sucks since I have a one year old...makes getting groceries out of the trunk hard ...and it has fallen on me like 3 times...one of which gave me a nice gash on the back of my head...

So order some new hatch struts from Rockauto!! Problem solved they have good ones for like $10 each, I got my replacements years ago and they are still holding strong.

Lol thank you. I did google...that was where I started. It always brought me to here anyway, so I figured I may as well just get all my questions out of the way. Most of the answers on google had numerous answers...and I couldn't ask questions there. Thanks for looking out for me tho!

When you google just type dsm then whatever you want to know, I guarantee its been answered at least 10 times and you WILL find what your looking for. I'm sure no one on here will give you the hell they give everyone else for posting so much because your a woman, but it will save you time and keep the forum cleaner

haha! Thank you so much Jake. I never thought of putting in DSM...that's why I always googled because I've had 4 eclipse's and I know all these problems are common with them. This is the the one that I'm ready to make look absolutely perfect
