my car starts to shake really hard around 75+ mph. also starts to shake when i engine brake, the car moves side to side (left, right, left, right) until im around 60 mph. its a hard shake from side to side. also happened when i was on the highway. was going about 70 around a long left turn. car started to shake from left to right, not like a little shake but like someone trying to shove it off the road. it felt like when i was turning left the front tires would go straight and then back to the right position i wanted them to be. i think it can be a tie rod or a wheel bearing. and i have no tools to jack up my car to check for wheel play :<
 
If you have no tools then take it to the closest person that does or take it to a shop/mechanic, or better yet borrow a jack and see how bad it is for yourself. That's a very dangerous situation you have there and it needs taken care of immediately. It sounds like a tierod end, but you may have some other problems going on too like a ball joint, bearing, etc. You need to quit driving it and have it taken care of NOW, before you kill yourself and/or someone else.:pray: At 70-80mph like that you're flirting with disaster.:|

this sunday im going to my friends shop to put on my new suspension. im going to check for any play there.

since i dont want to spam the board with a other thread ill ask my question here :)
with the new suspension im going to put on (koni yellow with H&R sport springs) will i need a chamber kit? also with the springs there was a note that had a list of cars that you needed to shave down the bumpstop. the 95 GSX was on the list. would i need to do this?
 
yeah you will have to trim the bump stop, usually by a measure of about half.

The koni instructions will specify how much of the bump stop to trim.

I find a hacksaw blade makes short work of the rubber bump stops.

As far as your death wobble is concerned it can be either a worn out component, or bad alignment. {excessive toe out for example can be scary to drive}

If your car is lowered alot, this can cause it. If a ball joint is wore out, this can cause it. If a strut or struts are blown, this can cause it!

Get the idea!? :)

To check a lower ball joint jack the car up by the lower control arm. Pry between the Control arm and knuckle, or wheel and control arm.. if you get any movement in either direction, shes bad.
