On stock bottom end...What size turbo...? What boost...? What supporting mods...? How long...?

I am getting ready to install my evoIII turbo and am just trying to gauge what boost level is safest for the street on pump....or at the track with race fuel. The car will not be daily driven. Thanks

PTE 56trim, I have driven in excess of 24 psi, with all of stage 1 and 2 mods. The turbo has been on for about 3 weeks now. I would assume the efficiency range for your turbo should be roughly 14-20psi on pump, but I may be wrong.

Cool...I should have also asked how many miles on the stk bottom end.

I have 117k...thanks

damn gsntnct thats alot of boost on a quite large turbo. What do you use, safc, dsmlink, ems?

Anyways, Ive done 22 psi on the 16g, and I'm at 20psi on the pte 50trim right now. Tune it well and you should be fine, even an idiot that doesnt know how to tune could blow a motor with a 14b at 14psi.

Just had to rub that in huh? Bite me. :p

As of right now, I have my SAFC and MAFT to tune . I'm still running a little rich.:(

500hp would be great...and to thge wheels no less. I am sure the closest I'll get to that is 300hp. Here is my set up:

-34mm flapper**
-EVO O2 Housing - Ported**
-EVO Manifold - Step Removed**

- 1.75" Compressor Outlet**
-Joe P MBC**
-HF Walbro 255 Pump**
-Rewire Kit for above pump**
-Symborski Shift Kit
-Synthetic BG Syncroshift**
-Custom 2.5" piping (well actually 3" piping but since it is not mandrel bent I'm calling it 2.5") all the from bottom of 02 hsing to 2.5" straight thru exhaust**
-Open eliment K&N
-SLP UICP/TB Elbow
-APC 9.5mm wires
-NGK Plugs
-5 angle valve job
-mitsu 3 lyr head gasket
- arp head studs
- New timing belt, tensioner pully, idler pulley, water pump

7bolt. 50Trim T3/T4 turbo. Been as high as 24psi on 94 octane. 60K on the bottom end. Running strong all last year, and should be good to go for all this year too.

Management was SAFC 650cc and MSD. This year AEM EMS, C2DI and WB02 with same 650cc.

Is that with stock 1G pistons, too? I know the rods are better than the 2G ones, but I always hear of upgrading to '95 pistons. Or is that just to change the compression?

Thats it im coming for you this year jim ,I will own the ncra and cscs.

Ohh back on topic ,,, you could run twenty psi without a problem on the evo 3 turbo , even though you are a 7 bolt doesent mean you cant have some fun right.:thumb:

I may switch to Pro Street this year so somebody else can win in the bracket classes (hhahah, pat self on back). Besides you need not worry about me, my dad in his 2003 3.5L Maxima with 150hp nitrous setup should pull high 11's if all goes well (old red car did 12.1 on the 3.0L) so he's the guy we should be afraid of hahha...

Well sorry to spoil you'r apples but im all pro street this year , and dont worry I'll be bringing enough nos for those weekends to be nice and comfortable.

As far as everything else, low 11's high 10's :D Im taking this year very seriously and so are my debt collectors.OMG

fp3052
fully rebuilt tranny plus an act 2600 fidenza flywheel
magnus sheet metal intake
new aerodynamic designs
and lots of nos
still desiding about the full out msd ignition setup though:confused:
whatever the stakes Ill be coverd .

See you in two months:p

keep tuning cause i'll keep boosting.:thumb:

Dang, you guys have some nice set-ups. I think I will be satified with high 12's or so. I do have a question. Since I spent all my resources on the above mentioned parts (that are slowly trickling in daily from different vendors) how do I tune????? I know all about the s-afc but not sure I can afford it now. What is this I hear about tuning with an egt gauge and reading plugs???? Is this a myth or can it be done??? I know I read or saw it somewhere but cant seem to find it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you fellas!!!!!

TT

If I'm not mistaken, people use a SCANTOOL for that. I need to get one myself to further assist in tuning my MAFT and Safc.
