Got to looking at the car the other day and started thinking about "what if" she's ever upside-down. Didn't take long to realize that with doors being like they are there would be no way to open them in case of a roll-over. Even though there will be some sort of emergency escape hatch over where spare tire used to go, not being able to open the doors does not sound pleasant. So went online looking up how professionals do it. Some cars don't seem to have anything, while some companies install explosive bolts in the hinges that pop the doors off. This is not a good alternative in this case, would prefer something simple, mechanical. Had an idea about something similar to how t-tops on some cars are attached. They have a handle that when pulled retracts two hinge pins, therefore releasing the part.

What would be better, one handle for both pins or one handle for each? For now the two bolts holding each door on have large wing nuts on them, but even those can be difficult to remove sometimes even if they are put on 'finger tight'. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Install this and just break the window. Odds are you will never roll the car but for that just in case moment if it does happen. Not worth the effort to install quick release hinges or anything like that.

Do like driving her with no doors at all, so that was another reason for quick-release. Do need to get one of those escape tools though, might come in handy one day.

If you're sitting on the roof, it is probably bent, which means your pin alignment from your pull handle is bent as well, which means you will need that window breaking tool.
