I have a 97 Spyder GST and in the rear, there's these suspension pieces which cross diagonally and rub against my tires.

It also causes the rear of my car to be jacked way up with a three to four inch gap between wheel and fender.

My question is this: does a mod exist to fix this, such as a more compact swaybar, or is there a way to remove it?

That verticle piece is the knuckle, not sway bar. Sway bar won't affect ride height.

You're rim offset, tire width etc is wrong, hence the rubbing.

The height is probably because it's factory suspension and they ride like a 4x4.

These are stock rims and basic tires, nothing fancy.
As for ride height, any way to fix that with a Spyder model?

stock tires are 205/55 16
you can go wider with 225/50 16 on the stock rims
what size are the tires on your car?

here is a pic of normal wheel gap

when looking at the exploded view pictures in the pdf, make sure you pay attention to the which bolts need to be fully tightened when the vehicle is on the ground.

tightening them fully with the suspension fully extended could be causing some issues with the rear ride height

If you're somehow rubbing tires on suspension components with stock size tires, wheels and suspension itself, you have a serious problem.

@dustyboner has a good point, but those pieces don't look to have been touched any time recently. Might want to make sure nothing in the rear is bent.
