St.Albert,
OK this problem is a little hard to explain so i'll do my best to be as specific as possiable. So when i'm honking on it and am about to shift (7000rpm) i hear a real bad grinding noise and its not a grinding noise like if u miss a shift and grind the gears its somthin else. I was positive it was the right side motor mount and just too much movement from the engine was makin that noise. I had about 3 inches of movement forward and backwards, but have replace both the right side upper mount and the front lower engine mount on the cradle. I haven't touched the tranny mount on the rear and its the only one thats still oem. but i still hear the grinding noise, and it dosen't matter what gear 1st- 2nd or 2nd-3rd. And its only if i push the shift to the redline...

Please any help would be awsome.

YA but like i said its not from the tranny its not a shifting gear grind, Sort of like a clunk bang. But its got a grind tone to it and I've put royal purple for tranny fluid, that helped but only recently i hear the noise any rpm higher than 6500 but heres the catch its only on heavy release of the clutch i can shift smooth if its slow but if i drop the clutch and hammer the gas as soon as the clutch is released i hear it. And thats when the most engine movement occurs.

do you have an aftermarket clutch? like a spec stage 3? If you do thats natural when the clutch engages at a high power band.

I have a centerforce dual friction clutch with about 35000 km on it and it has never made that noise till now. Going to check out tranny mount today with someone in the car to gun it when its in the air if i see more than an inch of movment then its getin replaced like i said its the only old mount left.

hookay so i got some stuff figured out

1. the noise/ klunk heard while shifting at higher rpm turned out to be the a/c
the bracket that holds it to the engine, had 3 bolts break and 1 was half in and it was rattleing eveywhere, so i don't use a/c anyway so ripped it out will make space for the intercooler anyway :).
2. I was freaking out about motor mounts and intalled 3 new mounts trying to get rid of this engine mmovement when i went to replace the rear tranny mount, i checked the engine movement and noticed the front engine mount that i just replaced 2 weeks ago was ripped right through. and i had the tranny mount already in so screw it its already done not turning back now. :)

So thats the noise part complete wow what a hassle :(.

Ok so do u think i sould be chasing the reason the mount went so fast or just part flaw? like i said brand new its a jobber but only 2 weeks old tryed to get a polly urathane mount but no dice parts guys are idiots.

Just reciently when i start it up cold, in the morning runs like shit very bad idle and almost wants to die. Im thinking my ect sensor is screwed and was wondering if u knew how to check i get a normal reading when the scan tool is hooked up and it dosen't overheat, my water pmp is leaking a bit but that will be replaced when i do the turbo install.

Ok so i'm still having the cold start up sickness. noticed that while i was changing the ect sensor it was about 9 deg celcuis off of the real temp, and when i disconnect the ect sensor i should go to -40 something which it does for few sec when its diconnected but then jumps to 13deg celcuis while its disconnected ? What should i be chasing. Mabey the safc2 is setting my idle all screwy when i start it. It will stall on me sometimes when im driving cold and i am down shifting use 2nd gear to down shift as soon as i enguage the clutch and am disenguaging the car idle will drop really low and sometimes stall.
