Gouging on intake camshaft

I was replacing my valve cover today and noticed some gouging on my #3 intake came lobes, there are barley noticable by feeling them, but they look bad, cams are BC 272 installed a few thousand miles ago when the head porting was done.

I would REALLY look into what caused that, pull the camshaft and check the rocker arm out as well. If it were me though I would probably run it though. Doesn't appear to be too life threatening.

I would look into what caused that.....you running a raised RPM limit? You can get that polished pretty easily but if you don't find the cause it will just keep happening.

The cam folowers look brand new, well they are, I'm not so sure it isn't a manufacturing defect, you can barley feel it with your finger nail, but it looks god awfull! I might just replace them.

My rev limit is 7,500 I'm not sure what stock was, I'm going to raise it after I install the HX35 and Magnus SMIM, I'm waiting on SD to be released for the link before I install, I don't wan't my MAF in the UICP for a few weeks just to undo it, I have a SS 4" intake pipe for the Holset that I also don't want to hack to hell.

Looks like you got some F.O.D. damage. When you change your oil, cut your oil filter in half and check the stuff inside of it.

F.O.D. WTF is that? I'll be changing the oil this weekend when I pull the trannie, I've got a filter cutter at the shop I'll check it than.

You need to move your 3" gm mas to behind the BOV to vent it correctly.

What are you going to do with your black VC?

HAHA someone is in aviation. F.O.D. means Foreign Object Debris.

Those surfaces look like the case hardening is cracked. You should send it back to the manufacturer if it's not stock.

Those are BC 272 so he would have to deal with Crower I presume.

I'll most likley throw some HKS cams in there, I want a bigger can anyway.
