Got a new 1g but its boggin

I just bought a 92 tsi awd tonight. 80k bone stock. The dealership detailed it, but the damn idiots got water all in the engine bay, so the car's boggin.... tomorrow, i was gonna take the distributer off and let it dry... what do you guys think i should do

So it wasnt acting this way before? There is several other things that can cause that. Technically speaking your car is distributerless.

I suggest a call to the OWNER and a testdrive by him to be taken. Get your money back on a detail job that has caused your car to run "improperly".

DSM ignitions are like 4-cylinder motorcycle motors, in that they fire off two cylinders at a time. One of the pair is on power, the other is on exhaust. It's not for emissions, it's not for power, it's just a tidy way to set up a four-cylinder engine's ignition scheme. It's a waste spark. Saves you needing a distributor and all the jimcrackery entailed in driving and mounting it, and all its parts.
It's a fairly new "innovation", leaving dozens of old-time ignition engineers with bruised foreheads from where they've slapped themselves and said, "Why didn't I think of that?"
