Is there a way to have your mechanical boost controller in the car and not have boost spikes? If not, is there a way to have a switch/solenoid that goes from one setting to another. Say setting A(10psi) and setting B(15psi).

Not to be rude but if your going to suggest a EBC, please don't. Too much money and I hear they're not as reliable and accurate as a MBC.

Thanks

I know that there are vacuum solenoids out there that have three ports on them. One port in inlet (line to the intake) and the other two could be used for two separate MBC. When power is supplied to the solenoid, it could route the line from the intake to the 15 psi MBC. When unpowered, it would be deverted to the 10 psi MBC.

After you have connected up each MBC, you could then tee the two lines together before going to the wastegate.

It's easier to just use the throttle pedal. It's the skinny one on the right. When you want less boost, don't push it down as far.

Seriously.

Having "adjustable" boost, or "two stages" or whatever other kind of carnival crap on the power output of an engine is not merely pointless, but it's inviting disaster. Tune your engine to the output level you want. Then just drive.

If you insist, here's an electronic alternative:

I still say, "Don't".

Just on a side note, I do love my EBC (apexi avcr), and having the scramble boost feature is very much like a scary carnival ride, because that nice 11.5 afr sometimes leans itself to 13.5-14.5 depending on the cars mood. LOL:D

Just tune it to 26lbs, and be happy.:thumb:

I'm sure if you were FWD you would know how to pedal it by now. I'm with bigD, your skinny right is like an on/off switch imo, go for gold.

I was going to comment on the skinny pedal thing and ask,"Skinny Pedal???" Then I wised up and realized you both mean :p . But thanks, I'll just get a good tune when I do the turbo upgrade.

+1

I have my mbc set to 18psi and I rarely hit that high since I never mash down on the pedal. No better boost controller than your right foot.
