i was looking for a dvd/mp3 in dash radio for my car but most of the ones i ran into weree like $1000 and up, such as the avic series. but then i ran into the Jensen VM9410 i saw it for around $400-$500. anyone know about this product of can point me in the direction of a good player which isnt too costly? thanx!

i have a clarion and the picture is very nice and the touch screen is awesome on it. also have the matching headrest monitors as well and the whole setup is very very nice

you can find the clarion VRX935VD for around 800 on ebay

Yeah, Jensen went out of business. I wouldn't recommend anything that has their name on it since if it busts you bust.

alpine is the best IMO. the IVA D-901 has the best, by far, resolution you can find. but it's also $2400. the IVA D-310 is their new touch screen, with pulse touch. it actually feels like your pushing a button, and not just a flat screen. it also allows you to touch the actual DVD menu itself for things such as "play", "special feats" etc, whereas most other screens you still have to touch up/down or left/right arrows on the screen to select what you want

go to an Alpine dealer and have them demo it for you, well worth the $1500

so are you guys happy you got a lcd radio? any regrets? or would you advise i just save some money and get a reg type with a flip down face

That one on ebay there is factory remaned, so it might go screwy on you. Thats why its so cheap. They are great thou, my dad has the clarion on in his truck.

Does the screen hit the shifter when it slides out? Is this even an issue?

shifter, NO. (unless you still have the stock horse-c*ck shifter and it's in 3rd gear... maybe)

however, if i'm not mistaken... if the Ebrake is partially up, it may catch on that. but if it's fully pulled, i think not. i'd have to go test it to make sure though, and my car is not here right now.

Yep I still have the stock shifter haha. I'm going to be going with a short-throw and even cut it down if its still too high because its not comfortable to shift and I do plan to get a DVD headunit, so the original poster may want to consider this as well if he still has the stock one as well.

Have anyone tried the AVIC D1, I got mine a few days ago and it seems like a great unit but there is some gap between it and the trim bezel of my Eclipse GS 99, that sucks major, has anyone figured out a way to make it work?

Codswallop. "Remanufactured" can mean many things, including brand-new returns from overstock or superceded models. Few consumer electronics have enough intrinsic value to make fiddling with them profitable, and "remanufactured" items have seldom been touched. But it pisses-off their retail sellers if they say, "Brand-new old stuff for fewer bucks".
