gonna get exhaust need help!!! Please

ok this is the deal, failed inspection cus i got check engine light on, at my job i hooked the scanner up and a code came up saying it was the o2 sensor, checked the o2sensor and it was worked on by the previous owner (i suppose) and it was toasted. well i ordered a new sensor at my job and took the old one out, but the old one was a bi*** to get out, i figured that something was wrong cus i was using the right tools (o2 sensor socket and all) well when i took it out i saw the thread was messed up and the new one wouldn't thread on. so i could get a factory exhaust system at my job, but i rather go aftermarket.

ok sorry had to explain the deal. well now i need an exhaust, i NEED an exhaust that has a o2sensor input and a catlytic converter (sorry on spelling) and a 2 1/2 incher. dont wanna do 3 inches cause my goal isnt to go over 300 hp... i have a factory turbo to so please help me out guys which one should i get?????????????? the quieter the better... talk to me

ps: might go with a turbo back too... need info need feedback!!!!!

Check out RnRracing.com they have pretty good prices as far as cat-backs and turbo-back go. They have high flow cats too. If you want quiet check our Rs*r I believe. They are said to be close to stock. I don't have a link for the Rs*r exhaust, sorry. Perhaps someone else could supply a link. But there is also Thermal exhaust. I believe Magnaflow sells a cat-back for the 2g's. Look around. There are alot of options when it comes to exhaust.

all you need is a new o2 housing. Pick one up off ebay for 20-40$ and install it.

The o2 housing is the section of cast iron that is attached to the side of the turbo and then attaches to the downpipe, the o2 sensor is also located on this o2 housing. Pick up a 2G one as they are larger then the 1G's. spend the extra 30$-40$ and pick up a ported 2G o2 housing off ebay.

ok sounds good, but my o2 sensor that im talkin about isnt the one on the o2 housing, its the one after the catlytic converter (on the cat back itself)... get me?

ok my next question is i want to get an exhaust right? right! ok well i need to leave my catlytic converter on so i can pass inspection. but since i need my o2 to go through i need a new cat back... im thinking about getting a cat back that is 2 and 1/2 inch and bolts on to my factory 2 inch turbo back. and im also gonna get the turbo back same as the cat back im getting and that bolts onto my factory o2 housing/turbo but not install it untill after inspection because i would get rid of my catlylitic converter... get me? sorry if im confuesing u all... now i need some names and models of exhaust that can fit those sizes and do what i need to do... also needs to be that stupid 50 state emissions legal... need some help!!!

I purchased the bosal 3" system for 320$ shipped to my door, It's beautiful with a complete 3-stage polish.

Buy a Ebay muffler....you choose design 2 1/2".....then go to local muffler shop and have them build you a turbo back 2 1/2" exhaust with your stock cat.....get some flanges while your there and have them weld you up a 16" test pipe. Pass smog, and pull the stock cat till next inspection.

2 1/2" crush bent turbo-back exhaust will get you to your 300hp goal., and save you hundreds over a aftermarket cat-back alone!!!

I got a whole Turbo back fabbed for less than $250. I have seen downpipes that cost more than my whole exhaust......Best part (IMO) don't have to wait 2 weeks cause they are currently not in stock....might take 3 hours for a crappy muffler shop.

Why don't you see if a muffler shop can weld in a new o2 sensor bung? Or just get some exhaust tape from autozone and tape the sensor in just to pass inspection in time.

well kinda figured since its kinda messed up, why not get a cat back but just worried now that if i get a 2 and half inch will it bolt on to my factory 2 inch down pipe... cus i need my catlytic converter.. then after inspection i can take that out and put a nice down pipe

a 2 1/2 inch will bolt up fine. You can get a pacesetter cat back to your door for like 225. It's extremely quiet but flows more than the stocker. I'd try to get a o2 sensor bung welded in just for the inspection.

Yes, the turbo 95-99 catbacks should come with the o2 bung, but you'll be waiting forever on shipping. If i were you, since your on a time schedule go to the local muffler shop and have them build you a 2.5" catback and have them weld on your stock muffler and a new o2 bung, unless you choose to have a different muffler.

ok pefect, just wanted to thank all you guys here at dsmtuners.com for dealing with my confuesingness ... just ordered the n1 apexi, wanted to go with a 2.5 inch cus my car is mad low but oh well i guess hope it dont scrape at the bottom. got a over nite delivery should be here tomorrow. got it at dsmparts.com
