going to purchase leak tester and code reader

So I was just about to buy a 2gb conversion for my car on tuesday to finally lose the body kit. However my car started messing up and now Im thinking of investing the money else wear.

Everyone whos been trying to help me has been telling me to boost leak test it, leak down test it, and compression test it in order to narrow down diagnostic. I don't have to tools to do this kind of testing and Im kind of tired of having to take it to the shop or mechanic all the time, and spending a fortune on it to get it running just so it can run for 2 or 3 days and beak down again.

So I'm now looking at buy a code reader, boost leak tester, and compression tester. Here are some that I've found.

make your own Boost leak tester it cost like $10 and you can get everything at a Lowes or Home Depot it's simple. Here's the link

And take your car to the nearest autozone, advance auto, or oreilly's to have the obd codes pulled, they do it for free!

the problem is I can't drive my car to any of those places for this reason

I mean unless I have it towed there OR I can just buy an OBD reader for half the price of a tow

Id really like people to post links on here of OBD readers they recomend for our DSMs or if it doesn't even matter.

Yup its actually all i have. I don't have an in house computer.

Look for a used tactrix 1.3U cable. You can get them for under $50. Then invest $25 into evoscan and have a code reader and a logger. That logger will become your best friend for diagnosising anything. Then make you're own boost leak tester and you're good to go.

I just ordered a code reader myslef. I got an otc codebook, cost me 200 bucks, but it can read codes,look at freezeframe and data stream in live time.
